Truthive is a project under the Initiative for Transitional Justice in Africa, implemented in partnership with the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF) and funded by the European Union.

Designed and Maintained by the TechVillage Innovation Hub, our mission is to create a comprehensive digital archive that documents Gukurahundi (1983-1987), a dark and often suppressed chapter in Zimbabwe’s history.

The history of Gukurahundi remains largely undocumented, with limited formal recognition and gaps in historical records. Survivors and victims’ families continue to seek acknowledgment and a comprehensive account of their experiences.
